Bracket Busters, Social Ops in Real Time

The Situation

A live NCAA themed social campaign meant the brand's voice was being tested in real time, in front of an audience, with no room to pause and think. Every response sent had to be fast, on brand, and safe, often within minutes of a moment that had already gone viral.

Stepping In

I built triage flows to categorize incoming responses by urgency and tone, and set up live QA checkpoints inside our workflow so nothing on brand risky went out without a second set of eyes, even under time pressure. I personally managed the escalation path for anything crisis sensitive, so the team always knew exactly where a difficult mention needed to go.

"The instinct in a live moment is to just react. The system is what let us stay calm instead."
The Turning Point

The moment that mattered most was a spike of over a thousand inbound responses in a short window, exactly the kind of moment where the instinct is to abandon process and improvise. Sticking to the triage system instead of reacting on impulse is what kept the brand's voice consistent when it mattered most.

What Came Of It

We held 100 percent brand voice compliance across the entire campaign, by running every time sensitive response through a live triage and QA system, while also cutting response lag by 30 percent. The model built for this campaign has since been reused for future brand activations that carry the same real time pressure.

Real-time operations reveal what preparation actually means: building calm into speed, and consistency into chaos.
